Baclaran, "Please pass. Kindly ride on."
Although I don't completely understand the wording used in this stanza, I
believe the notion refers to using a jeepney instead of a car to get about Baclaran.
The most typical Filipino habit in public transit is to pass over the fare. Manalo
aimed to draw attention to the characteristics that Filipinos share while requesting
favors in slang.
I learned a variety of things about Filipino nature as a result. First, I learned that
Filipinos could still manage to be polite and courteous even in a hectic situation,
such as while passing fares on public transit. Second, I came to the conclusion
that we frequently employ "Kanto" language to convey our regional identities and
verbal originality.
Our words are, in fact, our own.
